This past week of February 1st has led the media shocked with news regarding Marilyn Manson. Many women have come forward sharing their stories of physical, sexual, and verbal devil-like abuse from Brian Hugh Warner, a.k.a rock star, Marilyn Manson. Manson has not spoken on these claims, but more than five women have released statements concerning the abuse they have faced.

Singer Ellie Rowsell from the rock band Wolf Alice has spoken on her encounter with Manson at a music festival back in 2018. According to news outlets across the country, the two had met backstage at this particular festival. Rowsell tweeted on the sixth of February, 2021, “I met Marilyn backstage at a festival a few years ago. After his compliments towards my band became more and more hyperbolic I became suspicious of his behavior. I was shocked to look down and see he was filming up my skirt with a GoPro.”

Later she went on to explain to news outlets that Manson’s management team explained this to be a normal occurrence. Nothing was done about this incident to reprimand Manson for his actions.

Aside from this one claim, many women have come out explaining continuous abuse on multiple occasions from Manson himself. Evan Rachel Wood is a prominent figure in this series of events. Wood has made countless efforts to help survivors of abuse be able to have a voice. She has spoken in a court of law regarding her abuse, most can assume the abuse she spoke of was from Manson. She released a recent Instagram statement explaining her abuser in fact during this time, was Manson. She explained from the time she was a teen until she left the relationship that she encountered multiple forms of abuse on a never-ending basis. During one incident Wood had been able to leave, but then received hundreds of phone calls from her abuser. She returned to try and “diffuse” the situation at hand. Stating, “Once I was restrained, he beat me and shocked sensitive parts of my body with a torture device called a violet wand”. This is not even the beginning of the abuse Evan Rachel Wood and many others have faced from Brian Hugh Warner.

Esme Bianco is another familiar face involved in this scandal. Though Bianco’s abuse is separate from Wood’s, they share a similar experience. Bianco stated to the press that he “tied her with cables to a prayer kneeler, lashing her with a whip, and using an electric sex toy called a Violet Wand on her wounds”. This is similar to Wood’s claims of abuse. Bianco went on to explain she felt like a prisoner and distanced from her family during her relationship with Manson.

Manson has records of abusing staff and women from as early as February of 1998. This has continued up until now, February 2021. Many women have explained Manson to have fantasies of murder, rape, and physical abuse. Others have come out and said things along the lines of Manson beating them, sexually abusing them, manipulating them, and videotaping acts of violence against them. Women have explained that Manson has made them feel like prisoners and they are allowed barely any social life when with him. There is more to come in the following weeks regarding these claims from multiple women around the United States. As of this month, Manson has been dropped from his record label and management team. He has only released one statement via Instagram on the first of February explaining, “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how- and why- others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth”. One can only hope these victims get the justice that they deserve.
